( keeping in mind the sort of sentimental ( read: romantic at heart ) goober this one tends to be, he might just say he doesn't belong anywhere else. never has and never will, but that's the sort of thing he's going to keep to himself ( probably ), just because it's easier than dealing with nick's inevitable tsunderejeez, blondie when he gets caught off-guard, thrown off-center with all of vash's everything that he wasn't used to before.
like. all of his open affection, but he likes to think they've made progress, and he's slowly conditioning him to both accept and want it anytime it comes around. being able to sleep like this, tangled up in each other's arms, breaths and heartbeats in sync, slow and steady and so much more real than vash thinks anything ever has been for him before … it makes for good progress, doesn't it?
he sighs into the kiss, warm and silky sweet as he takes nick's bottom lip between both of his own and suckles at it playfully, the fingers of his flesh hand sifting through dark hair and scratching luxuriously over his scalp. he bumps their noses together, nuzzling for the sake of being able to get away with something so shamelessly affectionate so early in the morning, thigh pressing tight to his side as that hand smooths over it. )
