vash just wants to feel loved. because he loves with everything in him and he feels it back in turn every time nai pulls him into his arms, every time they fall into bed together only to wake up a tangled mess, and he accepts it. for everything it is and everything it isn't, he doesn't question.

he'd gone out to grab a few things for them; some treats he knows his brother will never ask for for himself and some doughnuts because he's predictable on his own part when he starts to feel it, a tingling heat beginning at the base of his spine and slithering its way upward as he makes his way back, and oh, crap.

when you come back to your shared room you're going to be effectively smacked in the face with the very beginning of your brother's heat, and if he's been able to prepare it to his liking already he's going to be buried in a nest made mostly out of your clothes, because it smells like you, and he needs that comfort.
if you catch him in the middle of it, he'll just be rearranging shirts you both trade back and forth because they smell like you both of you, and he's taking a break in the form of having wrapped himself in one of your button-downs. because he's frustrated with not being able to get the nest how he wants it.)
